Welcome to the Electronic Literature Foundation's presentation of the Arabian Nights.
The Arabian Nights are a collection of Persian, Arabian and Indian folk tales handed down through several centuries. There is no definitive text, but several variant manuscripts. In this site, you will find interpretations of selected tales by Andrew Lang and Sir Richard Burton.
For your reading pleasure, we have also included illustrations by Earle Goodenow.
To buy a print version of Burton's translation, click here. Or for a more modern interpretation, you can purchase this translation.
We hope you enjoy our presentation. For those readers interested in a version intended for a general audience, please use the Lang edition.
